ORLANDO, FLA — The New York Yankees have some work in the bullpen this offseason. In 2025, the Yankees bullpen ranked 23th in all of baseball and was a large reason the Yankees lost the AL East. The New York Post is reporting the Yankees interest in two back-end relievers.
RHP Brad Keller
Brad Keller had a breakout campaign for the Cubs in 2025. Keller held a stellar 2.07 ERA in 69.1 innings for the Cubs. In that time, he racked up 3 saves with a WHIP sitting under one. In his career, Keller has appeared both as a starter and as a reliever. The Post mentioned the Yankees interest is as a reliever, while other teams have expressed interest as a starter.
RHP Trevor MeGill
Yup, you read that right. The Yankees are showing interest in another Brewers closer, this time Trevor MeGill. The Mets have also shown interest in the high-priced closer. In 47 innings for the Brewers in 2025, MeGill posted a 2.49 era while racking up 60 strikeouts and 30 saves. MeGill missed the entire month of September with a flexor strain, which is important to mention since the deal would require trade capital.
MeGill also had some outspoken comments about the Yankees at the beginning of the 2025 season. I am in the camp that it might not be a great idea to bring in players who have made negative comments about the team in the past.
