THE BRONX, NY — The Yankees continued their series against the Orioles on Saturday, sending out Ryan Weathers to face his first AL east opponent as a Yankee. The Yankees won 9-4, improving to 22-11 on the season. 11 games over .500 serves as their new high water mark for 2026.
Pitching Spotlight
Ryan Weathers gave up just one earned run over five plus innings. His outing was cut short after the Orioles loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning after two bloop singles and an E1. Overall, the only earned run allowed by Weathers was on a solo home run to Pete Alonso. His offspeed stuff was working today and he was effective. It helps that the Orioles lineup he faced has struggled against lefties this season.

Hitting Spotlight
Cody Bellinger had four hits. That includes three extra base hits, two home runs, and four RBI's. It looked like he was pulling the ball in the air a bit more today, which plays well for a lefty at Yankee stadium. Also, his two-strike approach is still working.

Cody Bellinger added an insurance run the Yankees desperately needed.

Allso, savvy base-running by Judge to get to third base. pic.twitter.com/QzmSwBkYbo
Bellinger is heating up, which is good for the Yankees. His numbers will always be better at Yankee Stadium because of just how much the stadium fits his swing. The Yankees offense always needs more bidding bats.
Notable
The Yankees baserunning in the seventh inning was really good. They took the extra base every time they needed to in that inning to tack on three big insurance runs. Every run counts with the way the Yankees bullpen shakes out, so being aggressive on the basepaths is certainly a plus.
What's Next?
The Yankees and the Orioles will square off for game three of the four game series tomorrow at 1:35pm. For the Yankees it will be their ace, LHP Max Fried. For the Orioles, it will be the MLB debut of Trey Gibson.
