Will Warren looked fantastic tonight, walking only one batter, something he has struggled with this season so far. Warren had a rough second inning, allowing back-to-back hits, then a walk after getting a 6–6–3 double play, but came out unscaved.

First off, Ben Rice might be the unluckiest hitter I have ever seen. He barrels up two balls, and gets retired both times. Case and point: Ben Rice’s ops is .806. His expected OPS is .971

The Yankees had some opportunities, but the Royals brought their gloves tonight, robbing both Rice and Bellinger of extra bases and RBI’s.
The Yankees scored their run on a really weird play, ruled a hit by Goldschmidt, but Reyes was somehow able to score after some defensive miscues from the Royals, but ruled an RBI single.
Williams came in and pitched a 1–2–3 inning, their fourth 1–0 win of the year, the most in the MLB.
